Good morning, Sacred Heart Family!

Clean-up and repair work have begun on our church buildings and I am delighted to report that our beautiful Sacred Heart Church will be ready to welcome us all to Mass this weekend!

Our weekend schedule will be as follows: Confessions will begin Saturday, February 1^st at 4:00 pm and Vigil Mass at 5:00 pm; Sunday, February 2^nd Mass in Spanish at 9:00 am and Mass in English at 10:30am. Our Mass in Spanish at 12 noon is suspended until further notice.

Our Ministry Center has been professionally cleaned, and would otherwise be ready for use, but while turning on the main water supply, plumbing issues arose affecting the restrooms. Until the plumbing is fixed, the Ministry Center will remain closed. We are working to have it opened as soon as possible.

The Parish Hall, Rectory and Convent will be professionally cleaned in the aforementioned order and you will all be notified regarding when they are ready for use.

We are very grateful to Fr. Marcos Gonzalez for his generous hospitality in allowing us the use of beautiful St. Andrew Church and its lovely liturgical music during these last three Sunday Masses. It was very beautiful to see us all gathered together as a single community, a glimpse of heaven.

Returning to our parish is a sign of hope for the future. It has been said to me by many that Sacred Heart Church is a beacon of hope for the Altadena community and for the world. I have received correspondence from individuals from all over the United States and other countries who share their concern and prayers for our community. We have a unique opportunity to shine our light as we rise from the ashes; to be a testament of faith in our Resurrected and Glorious Lord, Jesus Christ.

“What came to be through him was life,

and this life was the light of the human race;

the light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1: 3-5)

Providentially, our return to our church falls on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. We return, each with our lit candle symbolically and literally a light in the darkness and a sign of hope in the face of despair.

¡Buenos días, Familia del Sagrado Corazón!

¡Han comenzado los trabajos de limpieza y reparación en los edificios de nuestra iglesia y estoy encantado de informarles que nuestra hermosa Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón estará lista para darnos la bienvenida a todos a Misa este fin de semana!

Nuestro horario de fin de semana será el siguiente: Las confesiones comenzarán el sábado 1 de febrero a las 4:00 pm y la Misa de Vigilia a las 5:00 pm; domingo 2 de febrero Misa en español a las 9:00 am y Misa en inglés a las 10:30 am. Nuestra misa en español a las 12 del mediodía está suspendida hasta nuevo aviso.

Nuestro Centro de Ministerio ha sido limpiado profesionalmente, y de otro modo estaría listo para su uso, pero al abrir el tubería de agua principal, surgieron problemas de plomería que afectaron los baños. Hasta que se arregle la plomería, el Centro Ministerial permanecerá cerrado. Estamos trabajando para que se abra lo antes posible.

El Salón Parroquial, la Rectoría y el Convento se limpiarán profesionalmente en el orden antes mencionado y se les notificará a todos cuando estén listos para su uso.

Estamos muy agradecidos al P. Marcos González por su generosa hospitalidad al permitirnos el uso de la bella Iglesia de San Andrés y su exquisita música litúrgica durante estas últimas tres Misas dominicales. Fue muy hermoso vernos a todos reunidos como una sola comunidad, un atisbo del cielo.

Volver a nuestra parroquia es un signo de esperanza para el futuro. Muchos me han dicho que la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón es un faro de esperanza para la comunidad de Altadena y para el mundo. He recibido correspondencia de personas de todo Estados Unidos y otros países que comparten su preocupación y oraciones por nuestra comunidad. Tenemos una oportunidad única de hacer brillar nuestra luz mientras nos levantamos de las cenizas; para ser un testimonio de fe en nuestro Señor Resucitado y Glorioso, Jesucristo.

"Todas las cosas fueron hechas por medio de El,

y sin El nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho.

En El estaba la vida, y la vida era la luz de los hombres.

Y la luz brilla en las tinieblas, y las tinieblas no la comprendieron". (Juan 1:3-5)

Providencialmente, nuestro regreso a nuestra iglesia cae en la Fiesta de la Presentación del Señor. Regresamos, cada uno con nuestra vela encendida, simbólica y literalmente, una luz en la oscuridad y un signo de esperanza frente a la desesperación.
